When I first joined ABoR, the membership was clamoring for increased transparency about the decisions that were being made by the Board of Directors. Their complaints were starting to really jam up the Board's - and the employees' - inboxes.
To free up the Board and satiate the 13,000 upset members, I conceived of President's Corner: a monthly series featuring the President of the Board that highlights the goings on decision-making at the Board level.
Key elements included tone (friendly and amiable, many of the complaints were about an unapproachability), brevity (if we actually wanted eyes on this, it couldn't be unwieldy), and reproducibility (I'd be making it every month, so it couldn't sap my time or creative energy).
